Community

Oltchim means first of all people. Committed management teams, enthusiastic workers and the very active and involved community of Valcea who has always supported us.

We consider that that it is our duty towards our fellows to reward their involvement and efforts in the best possible way. We want Oltchim to be not only a working place for the employees, but also a better lifestyle, a more balanced and rewarding one.

Ever since the setting up of the company, we have created the best working and living conditions for our employees and for the surrounding community. Here are only some of our achievements that we will surely improve in the future:

Health Centre

The health of our employees is our top priority. That is why our health centre is always available for the employees and their families. Its 15 surgeries can treat any problem, including emergencies. And since prevention is the best weapon against diseases, regular check-ups of the employees’ health have become the rule within Oltchim.

Canteen

We know that a hot meal at lunch time, while chatting with the work mates, is a well deserved break for our employees. Within Oltchim, all the personnel may have lunch at a large canteen hall, which can host up to 1 500 people.

Dwellings

It is important for us to have a positive impact on the lives of our employees and of the surrounding community. For this reason, we have extended our social programmes also to dwellings. We have built blocks of flats for 900 single employees and between 1966 and 1989 we helped many of the 120 000 inhabitants of the city of Ramnicu Valcea to become owners of their apartments.

With the help of the Ministry of Chemical Industry which generously allotted funds for this purpose, the dream of many employees as regards becoming apartment owners has come true. We are proud that we could contribute to improving the life of the Ramnicu Valcea community.

Nursery school and Kindergarten

The Oltchim team is a big family. At least this is our opinion. Therefore, we know how important family is for each employee. We set up a nursery school and a kindergarten so that the employees of Oltchim may enjoy work and family life in a very balanced way. At present, we take care of 50 infants and 180 up to 5-year old children whose parents may now work without worrying for their children care.

Sports

We try to encourage healthy activities in our employees during their free time. They can get to know one other better, they can improve the team spirit by using the sports facility of Oltchim. Football, handball, basketball, volleyball, tennis are only some of the activities which help the employees get rid of the stress, improve their health and know better their colleagues.

Leisure

After a whole work week, the best reward is a relaxing weekend in the middle of nature. Beautiful landscapes, a lake for leisure activities, where one can sail and fish, sports fields, swimming pools and chalets under excellent conditions. These are the features of a dream weekend. Our employees, together with their families, can often enjoy such holidays using the Oltchim leisure resort which has been made available to them.
