Oltchim Company gets involved in the life of the community in as many ways as possible. The physical exercise has been considered one of the most suitable areas with a major positive impact on the community.

Wishing to inoculate the principles of performance and team spirit within the community, Oltchim has been investing in sports since 1973, when A.S. Chimistul was founded, comprising 5 sports performance sections.

27th of March 1997 was the moment when the Oltchim investment transformed into a High Performance Club, becoming thus the OLTCHIM Sports Club of Rm. Valcea, adding to the existing 5 performance sections other 2 sections, among which the handball. The Handball Section of the club is the most prestigious of all, with excellent national and international results.

Starting with February 1st 2007, C.S. "Oltchim" Rm.Valcea became the first - and only, for now - Professional Handball Club in Romanian handball, both sections, feminine and masculine.

During the 27 years of existence, record handball team added more and more titles. Here are some of them:

The handball team C.S. Oltchim Rm Valcea represents the high performance standard in the Romanian women’s handball. Through the handball school and the big number of handball players who became members of national handball team of Romania, C.S. Oltchim Rm Valcea has managed to brighten up the Romanian sports.
