ECVM Annual Health Safety and Environmental Conference

For more than 10 years, ECVM has been getting together the Member Companies’ representatives, offering an extremely useful experience exchange for the staff involved directly in the production activity.

This year, SC OLTCHIM SA had the honor to host the ECVM Annual Health Safety and Environmental Conference,organized in cooperation with ECVM, during 12th – 13th 2008 in Calimanesti-Caciulata resort, Valcea county. The meeting offered an excellent opportunity to discuss over health and environmental issues following accidents and near misses, during the past year, and  to set the areas where ECVM could provide support. The information exchanged included a full description of the accidents, its consequences, the analysis of its causes and the corrective actions taken. If several incidents appear to follow a common trend, it is usually decided to collect information in a systematic way in order to consider possible recommendations.

ECVM - European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers – represents the European PVC producing companies and is a division of PlasticsEurope, the Association of Plastic Manufacturers in Europe. Its membership includes the 11 leading European PVC producers which together account for 90 per cent of European Union production of  PVC.

The organization is working actively with the new European Union Countries to ensure the highest production standards are observed and that the whole industry is working so that PVC remains a sustainable material and a material for the future.

ECVM studies and attempts to solve problems of public interest connected with the use and application of the products of the PVC manufacturing industry, such as the protection of the environment, health and safety.
